Beam Width and Direction Control Through Metasurface Based on Surface Wave

In this work, the design method of metasurface simultaneously arbitrarily controlling beam width and direction based on surface wave coupling and decoupling is proposed. An impenetrable impendence model is used to synthesize the metasurface impendence. The proposed metasurface impendence is designed to be lossless and reciprocal, because accurate calculation method of the surface wave coupling and decoupling on the metasurface is established in this work. The metasurface reflected a Gaussian beam to other Gaussian beam with designable waist and reflected angles are designed. The performances of the proposed metasurface are verified by full wave simulation and experiment, which confirm the validity of the metasurface design method to simultaneously arbitrary control beam width and direction.
