Single-shot pump-probe technique by the combination of an echelon and a grating with a time window of 109ps

A single-shot pump-probe technique is implemented with the combination of a simple echelon and a commercial grating. With this technique, a large time window of 109 ps and a time interval of 30.9 fs are obtained. The measured time resolution is approximately 790fs in our experiments, which is mainly limited by the dispersion of the grating. The validity of this technique is demonstrated by the investigation of the two-photon absorption process of ZnSe and the excited-state absorption process of a symmetrical phenoxazinium bromine salt. The most obvious advantages of this technique are by simply increasing the echelon steps or the grating length, the time window can reach hundreds of picoseconds while maintaining accurate imaging and well time calibration.
