Factors Influencing The Adoption of E-commerce in Jordanian SMEs.

With the direction of global large companies to online transactions and with the accelerated growth of electronic commerce in the digital economy world, SMEs are still lagging behind larger organizations in the adoption of E-Commerce. This paper presents the results of a study that mainly focused on investigating the environmental, organizational, and technological factors that could influence the adoption of electronic commerce in small and medium-sized enterprises in Jordan, and determine their level of influence on the adoption decision. This was achieved by conducting a questionnaire distributed to employees and managers of Jordanian SMEs. Results show that in different sectors the top management support and employees' knowledge and attitude, the lack of e-commerce legalization and the lack of awareness to it are considered to be main factors that have a direct impact on the adoption decision.
