Facile synthesis of ZnIn2S4/Cu2O hierarchical heterostructures for enhanced selectivity and sensitivity of NH3 gas at room temperature

摘要
•Improved gas sensing performance of Cu2O by creating a heterostructure with 2D ZnIn2S4 at room temperature.•Impressive gas sensitivity, low limit of detection (1 ppm), and fast response/recovery times (37/25) exhibited by ZIS-10.•The electron transfer at the interface through -S-In-S-In-S-O-Cu-O- pathway responsible for enhanced sensing performance.
