Two-dimensional Wannier-Mott exciton diamagnetic shift

We present a model of diamagnetic shifts for two-dimensional Wannier-Mott excitons in out-of-plane magnetic fields, including environmental dielectric effects. We indicate the reasons for the magnetic-field-induced increase of exciton mass and size. In the weak-field limit, we deduce the diamagnetic coefficient and explain why its value is significantly different between excitonic states. Our results agree well with experimental data.
