Enhancement of adhesion strength and in-vivo evaluation of electrodeposited calcium phosphate/chitosan biocoatings on titanium substrate

摘要
•This work reported that the in-situ ED enhanced the adhesion strength between the coatings and the Ti substrate by changing chitosan's solvent from a commonly used solvent to acrylic acid.•The key factors, namely, electrolyte ingredients and ED parameters were investigated and optimized.•The bond strength was tested by the tape test, SEM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy, and ATR in addition to in-vivo evaluation.•The results showed improvement in adhesion strength and accelerated bone healing in clavicular bone defects in rats.
