摘要
In this issue of Atherosclerosis, Tao and colleagues conducted a prospective study with data from 458,860 adult participants in the UK Biobank, and analyzed data on climbing stairs, sociodemographic and lifestyle factors. Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) was defined in a comprehensive fashion, including coronary artery disease (CAD), ischemic stroke (IS), or acute complications of these conditions. Associations between flights of stairs and ASCVD were examined as hazard ratios (HRs) from Cox proportional hazards models. The modifying role of disease susceptibility in such associations was assessed by analyzes stratified by risk score levels genetic status (GRS), 10-year risks of ASCVD, and self-reported family history of ASCVD [ [1] Song Z.
