Liquid-liquid equilibrium data for the ternary (nonan-2-one + dihydroxy benzenes + water) systems at 298.15, 313.15, 323.15 and 333.15 K

•LLE data for the ternary system nonan-2-one + dihydroxy benzenes + water were measured at four different temperatures.•Solvent recovery of nonan-2-one in the raffinate phase is not required after extraction due to its low solubility in water.•Nonan-2-one was a superior solvent for extraction of dihydroxy benzenes from wastewater.•The NRTL and UNIQUAC models can accurately predict the LLE data.
