摘要
Climate change presents a major collective action problem that is likely to change life as we know it. Though fields such as economics and public health have attempted to estimate these effects within their own areas, psychology has not paid proper attention to what effects climate change might have on human attitudes, behavior, and cognition. Here, I focus on the psychological and cultural impact of three areas of climate change: increasing temperatures, more frequent disasters, and rising disease threat. Consulting existing work on these domains, I argue that climate change will affect a wide array of cultural outcomes, especially in understudied communities. I also provide theoretical next steps and methodological considerations for building a broader understanding of climate change.
