摘要
Reducing CO2 emissions from the building sector is essential to achieve the goal of mitigating global warming. Soundless chemical demolition (SCD) and induction heating demolition (IHD), as newly proposed demolition technologies, can potentially reduce CO2 emissions from urban concrete building demolition. To this end, this paper investigated CO2 emissions caused by blasting demolition and layer-by-layer demolition with SCD and IHD. A framed structure was selected as the case and assumed to be located in 10 cities in China. CO2 emissions during demolition were divided into three stages for calculation and comparison. CO2 emissions reducing potential of SCD and IHD were analysed. Results showed that SCD and IHD could reduce CO2 emissions of blasting demolition, and a longer distance from the city center to the construction waste treatment plant could cause more significant reduction of CO2 emissions. Meanwhile, CO2 emissions reducing potential of SCD and IHD were pretty significant. The findings demonstrate that the application and promotion of SCD and IHD can make a significant contribution to the low-carbon and sustainable development of cities.
