IoT-Based Model for Saffron Cultivation and Growth Parameter Analysis and Monitoring by Using AquaCrop

Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized modern life to a great extent. The impact of IoT on agriculture has resulted in increased crop yield and better quality. Numerous issues related to saffron cultivation like area specific cultivation, adulteration, lack of a technology-based model can also be addressed by using IoT. The paper presents a study of different IoT based techniques for cultivation of crops. A smart IoT based model for saffron cultivation has also been proposed. The model has been validated by using Pearson coefficient for comparison of actual percentage growth with predicted values. The values of R obtained for temperature and humidity constants is 0.967 and 0.884 which indicate good performance as compared to other existing models. The values of R 2 obtained is 0.935 and 0.782 which shows that the quality of model is better in terms of performance.
