Abstract
•The precipitation behavior of simulated high-level liquid waste during the denitration process based on two-step vitrification was studied.•The influence of formic acid, as a denitration agent, on the precipitation behaviour of simulated high-level liquid waste was investigated during denitration.•There were precipitates composed of Zr, Mo, La, Ce, Nd, Fe, Te, Pr, Cs, Sm, Sr, Y, Co, and Ni in the denitration process, and the content of the precipitated elements, and the morphology was found to be related to the denitration ratio.
