High repetition FMCW measurement using direct modulation of a hybrid wavelength tunable laser diode

High repetition FMCW distance measurements were performed using direct modulation of a hybrid wavelength tunable laser at a repetition rate of 25 kHz. A minimum standard deviation of 0.3 cm at a bandwidth of 1.6 GHz was obtained for the same distance measurement in free space. A measurement error of less than 1 cm was achieved for the 3D imaging, demonstrated fast and accurate FMCW distance measurement.
