Investigation of Stimulated Raman Scattering in Magnesium Fluoride Microcavities

We have successfully manufactured two magnesium fluoride whispering gallery mode microcavities with diameters as small as a few hundred micrometers. Stimulated Raman scattering experiments conducted using these microcavities revealed low threshold levels and ultrahigh quality factors, suggesting a promising potential for their application in nonlinear photonics.
