Heat Recovery System based on Air Propagation in Tube-in-Tube Pipes for Smart Buildings.

Every smart building has different types of heat exchanger (HE), which is used for energy recovery, minimizing the energy consumption. HE can be used in regenerative or recuperative process. In energy recovery, the simplest heat exchanger is tube-in-tube type, in which the counter-flow type is the most efficient. In this paper, a low cost heat recovery system is studied based on a lab scale model, which was developed based on counter-flow air to air heat exchange. For experimental results, four temperature-humidity sensors are used to measure the input and output parameters at every end of each tube. Hot air flow with different values of inlet temperature and humidity is applied. For an intelligent control law, spatial and temporal variable must be taken into account. Empirical model can be derived from data acquired from process based on air quality parameters. The efficiency of heat exchanger can be observed even for small steps of inlet values.
