摘要
Transverse Electromagnetic (TEM) horn antenna is very commonly used for radiating very short pulses with subnanosecond rise time. Compact pulse transformer based ultra wideband (UWB) system (120 kV, 150 ns) at BARC Vizag also uses a TEM Horn antenna of 100 Ohm input impedance. This is an unbalanced type of antenna which is having a half TEM horn with ground plane. Ground plane here is expanded gradually into a plane structure from outer conductor of coaxial structure in order to avoid sudden discontinuities. In this paper simulation results for TEM horn antenna are presented. Comparison of boresight electric fields is also done between simulated results and experimental results available.
