Self-reinforced aluminum phosphate framework/bismaleimide composites with double cross-linking hybrid structures

•The double cross-linking hybrid structures are successfully fabricated in aluminum phosphate framework (APF) / bismaleimide composites.•Lamellar aluminum phosphate (LAP) particles could effectively strengthen the three-dimensional APF with the pinning structures.•The flexural strength of LAP-APF/BMI-5 composite can increase to over 170.46 MPa, and the dielectric loss (tanδ) decreases to 0.15.
