摘要

•SWCNT films are functionalized with a radiofrequency nitrogen plasma.•TEM, UV–vis-NIR, Raman, XPS studies and DFT calculations are performed.•The sensing performance of the films towards 10–50 ppm NO2 and NH3 is evaluated.•Functional groups introduced by plasma facilitate higher chemiresistive response.•N-plasma treatment leads up to a 100x increase in the chemiresistive response.
