Allergist-reported diagnosis and management of adult food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome

This study reveals the effectiveness of synchronous multidisciclinic with the benefit of each specialty bringing their strengths and with insight of allergic diseases and allergy testing, whereas pulmonology provides their expertise on chronic lung disease, lung imaging interpretation, and ability to perform advanced lung studies. Although 42% of patients were started on biologics during this study, we did not consistently observe a significant improvement in our measured outcomes for those prescribed biologics compared with those who were not. Therefore, we attribute the personalized pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions to the improvement of PROs, health care utilization, and asthma education. From a pharmacologic standpoint, an individualized plan is created based on the patient's presentation, biomarkers (eg, serum eosinophils, immutype, socioeconomic barriers, compliance, and insurance coverage.
