Compound Current Controller Based on SiC/Si Hybrid Converter for Current Harmonics Suppression of High-Speed PMSMs

The large current harmonics caused by the limited switching frequency and small inductance significantly degrades the efficiency of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous machines (HSPMSMs). To suppress the current ripple, this article proposes a discrete-time dynamic-decoupled compound current controller based on a distinctive SiC/Si hybrid converter with different frequencies. The main contribution of the proposed compound current controller is the robust dynamic decoupling performance, resulting in better transient behavior. Compared with traditional current controllers, the proposed method has two salient features: first, the model-based current controller is designed to dynamically feed back HSPMSM information. Second, various couplings between the dq -axis and the converters are compensated. Additionally, the tuning method of only two parameters is discussed for industrial application. Finally, simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
