Cross-Dipole Phased Array with Super-Wide Bandwdith for MM-Wave Cellular Networks

Within this paper, a novel blueprint for beam-steerable phased array antennas is unveiled, boasting unparalleled attributes of an extraordinarily expansive impedance bandwidth and extensive scanning capabilities. These attributes stand as pivotal requisites in aligning with the exigencies of impending cellular networks. The procedural blueprint advanced here is characterized by its simplicity, rendering it amenable to seamless integration onto smartphones. The conceptual framework underpinning this design encompasses the integration of eight cross-dipole resonators, meticulously organized within a linear configuration of 1×8. The nourishment of these resonators is orchestrated through the medium of microstrip-line feedings, effectively realizing a compact form factor. The architectural manifestation of this design realizes a substantial expanse of bandwidth, duly enveloping multiple bands encapsulated within the 5G spectra, extending from 25 GHz to 42 GHz, all while achieving a commendable -10 dB performance threshold.
