摘要
Following power transmission sector, synchrophasor technology gradually penetrates into distribution grids. Motivated by this promising perspective, this paper showcases the exploitation of distribution-level phasor measurement units (D-PMUs) for state estimation (SE) and fault analysis, using as a testbed the active distribution network of Kythnos. The SE methodology is designed to process conventional or synchronized measurements, as well as a mixture of both. Éts performance is assessed using offline and software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulations. Also, a study of electrical events in the Kythnos grid, considering a number of installed D-PMUs, is conducted. The obtained results suggest that the developed SE procedure can ensure quality grid monitoring, while the output of fault analysis can be leveraged for real-time fault detection.
