Experimental Report on Digital Twin System to Assist in Deep Snow Removal Works

摘要
A digital twin system to assist deep snow removal works was developed and experimentally verified at a snow removal site. This assist system, which real-time displays multiple vehicle models on a 3D environmental map in snow-free conditions, enables vehicle's operators to accurately identify the relationship between the position and posture of the vehicle and the terrain/ground objects that require attention during snow removal. In addition, it estimates and displays not only the actual behavior of the vehicle but also the height of the snow cover to the road and the distance to the mountain slope as necessary information for snow removal work. The experimental results showed the potential application as an assist system for deep snow removal works.
