A Liquid Dielectric Resonant Antenna Based on Conical Reflector

In this paper, A novel liquid dielectric resonant antenna (DRA) based on square conical reflector have been proposed in microwave frequency. The liquid DRA consist of ionic liquid, resin container and transparent conducting film. By introducing a square conical reflector with transparent conductive film and cone-shaped radiator structure array in the antenna, the gain of the proposed antenna can be improved. Compared the water antenna, this liquid DRA can be designed for unique performance, such as wide-band, high transparency and high gain, which can consider as a hybrid DRA by using low-loss ionic liquid and resin container. The proposed antenna has frequency range from 12.7 GHz to 17.1 GHz (S 11 <-10dB) and simulated peak gain is about 14.84 dBi at 15 GHz. The results illustrated that this proposed antenna is a promising candidate for wireless communication system and microwave circuit.
