32×800Gb/s/carrier DWDM Coherent Transmission over 1050km EDFA amplified G.652 Fiber using OE-MCM Prototype with up to 140GBd Symbol Rate

We demonstrate a 32×800Gb/s Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transmission over a 1050km G.652 fiber link using only Erbium-doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFAs). The 800Gb/s signal is generated/received by a prototype which is built based on 140GBd Opto-Electric Multiple-Chip-Module (OE-MCM), consisting high-speed and high resolution Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) and Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), high speed Silicon-Photonics Integrated Circuit (PIC) with modulator and receiver hybrid, as well as stacked dies of linear driver and Trans-impedance Amplifier (TIA) on top of PIC.
