Measurement of 300 GHz Band Radio Propagation Characteristics in the Vicinity of Human Body using Terahertz Hemispheric Scanner

This paper presents the measurement of the direction of arrival (DOA) of 300-GHz-band radio propagation in the vicinity of a human body. We have developed a high-speed terahertz hemispheric scanner that can measure the DOA of 300-GHz-band radio signals with an angular resolution of 0.5°, and a human body phantom whose complex permittivity is close to the human body at 300 GHz band. Furthermore, DOA measurement results indicate that clothing significantly affects diffraction and reflection characteristics near a human body at 300 GHz.
