Abstract
This paper presents an effective modeling strategy applied to the design of a folded transmitarray (TA) antenna at 183 GHz. The structure at hand is amenable for fabrication by photolithography on low-loss quartz substrates. The proposed method, based on ray-tracing, provides a good agreement with full-wave simulations for the folded TA. A peak gain of 28.2 dBi and 52% aperture efficiency is achieved for a folded F/D of 0.33, which translates into a total TA thickness of 6 mm.
