摘要
This paper proposes a safety monitoring system for workers in factory environments, based on tracking their position relative to danger zones and alerting them of potential hazards. The system uses Ultra-Wideband (UWB) positioning and vibrating vests to provide tactile proximity warnings to workers. A case study is presented for an automobile manufacturing site in Morocco, where the proposed system is simulated and analyzed for its efficiency. The results indicate a median localization error of less than 12 cm under static conditions and less than 28 cm under dynamic conditions. Additionally, design considerations and a draft cost analysis for the proposed system are discussed. Hence, the system has the potential to enhance the safety and productivity of the industrial workforce, by potentially reducing the workplace injuries and fatalities.
