Influence of Dimensional and Material Parameters and their Uncertainties on Calculable Offset Shorts

We present a systematic analysis of the uncertainties in the mechanical characterization of coaxial offset short standards used in the primary calibration of vector network analyzers. The study takes a look at standardized and possible new connectors with outer conductor diameters ranging from 7.0 mm to 0.5 mm. Within the scope of the primary calibration of the 1.35 mm precision connector, the influence of the calculated primary standard uncertainties on the final measurement results is investigated.
