Enhancing the Adsorptive Recovery of Europium from Real-World Solid Samples Through the Synergistic Impact of Lysozyme Fibril and Melamine Phytate

•The LF@MP biosorbent showed maximum sorption capacity of 540 mg g−1 for Eu(III).•Adsorption is endothermic at pH 6.0 and follows pseudo second order kinetics.•Recovered Eu(III) from red phosphor and simulated radioactive waste.•LF@MP biosorbent is reusable till five successive adsorption–desorption cycles.•Electrostatic interaction is dominant in the mechanism.
