Managing the 5G system based on production requirements using an Asset Administration Shell approach

In Industry 4.0 the production system must be adapted to the needs of customers, without planning every detail in advance. This work proposes to develop asset administration shell of wireless communication system's components to allow negotiation between the commu-nication system and the production system. A use case is presented where the parameters of the communication system are adapted so that the communication system meets the application requirements. Initially, the assets involved are identified. After that, the properties of the assets that are relevant for building the AAS are identified and modelled using the AASX package explorer. Finally, algorithms and methods are developed to handle communication and application related process. The results show that the AAS can be used to increase the flexibility of a production system.
