Open Access Fluoride Sensor for Water Quality Assessment: Smartphone Based Sensor and Data Transfer using MOFs as sensing materials

摘要
In this work, we report the development of a novel class of materials known as metal organic frameworks (MOFs), as fluoride sensors as well as their use on a portable device with Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity to smartphones. Our sensor does not require batteries and also provides the time, data, GPS, and measured fluoride level. Information collected can be sent through the Internet via email, SMS, or an instant messaging service. Online data sharing and visualization tools include Google Maps, among others.
