Assessment Via SERS of Two Simple Chemical Methods for Silver Nanoparticle Deposition Onto Copper Hydroxide Nanowires

Two distinct chemical methods, thermal reduction and hydrothermal method, were employed to deposit silver nanoparticles onto the nanowires. These silver-deposited nanowires were termed “SERS substrates.” Characterization was conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. SEM, Raman and XRD analysis facilitated the examination of silver nanoparticle deposition onto the nanowires. These SERS substrates were subjected to rhodamine tests to assess their effectiveness. Additionally, an investigation was carried out to determine which substrate provided the greatest amplification of the Raman signal. The findings of this study furnish valuable insights into the efficiency of the two silver deposition methods onto anodized copper hydroxide nanowires. This research underscores the utility of these SERS substrates in enhancing Raman signals, which could have significant applications in various fields such as optical sensors.
