One-step hydrothermal synthesis of core-shell structural silicon carbide@WS2 with high efficiency for microwave absorption

摘要
The rapid development of communication technology has put new demands on high-efficiency microwave absorbing materials. In this study, silicon carbide particles are totally wrapped with two-dimensional WS2 through one-step hydrothermal method. Such core-shell structural SiC@WS2 composites show the minimum reflection loss of −50.52 dB with the thickness of 2.1 mm, and broadest absorbing bandwidth of less than −10 dB is 4.60 GHz with the thickness of 1.9 mm. The introduction of WS2 nanosheets enhance interfacial polarization and multiple scattering for composites. Besides, the special core-shell structure improves the surface anisotropy resulting in a better match of electromagnetic parameters. This work provides a facile and efficient synthesis process to enhance the absorbing abilities of powder materials.
