CAC: Current Status of Cardiac Arrest Centers

Cardiac Arrest Centers (CAC) are hospitals that are specialised in the treatment of prehospital resuscitated patients. In Germany quality criteria were defined in 2017 for the first time worldwide and there are currently more than 100 hospitals certified as CAC. International guidelines also recommend the continued treatment of these patients in a CAC. Study data underline the importance of the widespread introduction of these clinics, as they have a positive impact on patient survival and emergency medical personnel accept an additional trans-port time of 16.3 minutes to reach a CAC
