Fabrication of gum Arabic with red mud as a photobiocomposite for antibacterial activity

This study describes the design a novel composite inspired gum Arabic and red mud as natural and raw compounds. The red mud/gum Arabic (RM/GA) composite was synthesized by simple, and efficient platform, then was characterized by analysis techniques. The antibacterial trend of as-synthesized composite was studied against bacteria model. The data revealed the better performance of RM/GA composite (99 %) compared to that of RM and GA under 10 min Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. The viable cell method was used to predicate the degradation of bacteria. By using improved ROS generation, the bacteria numbers were decreased, which provided the benefit of natural materials to produce photobiocomposite. The outcome presents a novel biocomposite, which can be used for biomedical or environmental application.
