Randomized Trial of Interactive Digital Healthcare Provider Vs Educational Handout in HPV Vaccine Education: A Pilot Study (2164)

Unsuccessful human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination efforts and the ongoing pandemic have hampered efforts to reach nationwide goals for HPV vaccination. Given the significant disparity in incidence and mortality for cervical cancer by race/ethnicity, there is an urgent need to improve HPV vaccine uptake in underrepresented minority populations. The aim of this pilot study was to evaluate the relatability and efficacy of an interactive digital healthcare provider (DHP) to educate patients with HPV-related disease or cancer about HPV vaccination and to motivate them to talk to their friends and family about HPV vaccine uptake.
