摘要
The natural waxes used in traditional hot-waxed wood techniques are expensive and have unstable properties. This results in poor adhesion and hardness of the hot-waxed wood with natural waxes, and heat stability needs to be improved. To overcome these problems, a graft modified Fischer-Tropsch wax with vinyl acetate and maleic anhydride has been developed as an alternative to natural waxes for hot-waxed wood technology. The surface properties of Fischer-Tropsch wax and natural waxeswere systematically compared before and after modification, focusing on the effect of the modified Fischer-Tropsch wax on the surface properties of hot-waxed wood at different hot waxing temperatures. The results show that, compared to unmodified Fischer-Tropsch and natural waxes, the modified Fischer-Tropsch waxed wood has significantly improved adhesion, surface hardness enhanced to 2H, retained wet moisture buffering capacity with a hydrophobic surface, improved thermal stability, and significantly improved surface color and gloss. Vinyl acetate and maleic anhydride grafted Fischer-Tropsch waxes can therefore be an effective alternative to natural waxes in hot-waxed wood technology, while modified Fischer-Tropsch wax hot-waxed technology is a promising method for decorating wooden architectural, interior and furniture surfaces.
