Accommodation Capacity Evaluation of Distributed PV Considering Security Constraints of Feeders and Substation Areas

The integration of distributed photovoltaic (PV) has become a crucial way to integrate new energy into power grids with the proposal of the new power system construction strategy. However, ensuring the stable operation of the power grid and the reliable consumption of new energy poses a significant challenge. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an accommodation capacity evaluation method for distributed PV, considering the security constraints of feeders and substation areas. The technical requirements and accommodation mechanism of distributed PV are elaborated, and an evaluation model is established, including objective functions and safety constraints such as main station rated capacity and load distribution. Furthermore, a feeder-area bi-level model solution method is proposed, and the maximum accommodation capacity of distributed PV is solved using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, with the node and line number rules given. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified in a practical power grid example, demonstrating that the proposed method can comprehensively obtain the accommodation capacity of PV, considering various security constraints of the feeders and substation areas. This method provides a guarantee for the safety and stability of new power systems with the large-scale integration of new energy.
