摘要
It is common to observe evidence in rock sequences indicating that they have been subjected to stresses at some stage in their history. If these stresses were applied to rocks in a ductile state, the resulting structures are flexures of the rock beds called folds. This chapter deals with the geometrical features of folds and their associated terminology and classifications. Methods are explained that use information obtained from a geological map to construct the subsurface geometry of the folded units. These methods can be applied to estimate mineral resources.
