Cow's milk allergy

Cow's milk allergy is among the most common forms of food allergy, especially in childhood. Diagnosis relies on history and confirmatory testing. While resolution prior to adolescence is common, persistence beyond childhood and even into adulthood does occur and often affects those with more severe allergy. Milk avoidance is difficult and can have significant nutritional and lifestyle impacts. Emergency preparedness remains essential, and research is ongoing into treatments that may mitigate risk and/or alter the natural history of CMA.
