Questionnaire design in SCM research

This chapter provides an overview of designing and implementing effective questionnaires for supply chain management research. Many of the principles and tips that are described are based on good questionnaire design in any functional area, however, we also provide supply chain management examples and discuss adaptations for the unique setting of a supply chain. Topics include open-ended vs. closed-ended questions, levels of measurement, tips for writing effective questions and response options, developing questions on sensitive topics, finding existing questions, translation and cultural issues, questionnaire administration, sampling considerations, and online questionnaire administration and sampling.
