Infectious diseases can directly impact the reproductive system (germ cells transport, uterine environment, embryo/fetus) or indirectly affect embryonic/fetal survival (uterine and placental dysfunction).In this document, the main infectious diseases caused by viruses, bacteria and protozoa that affect reproductive performance most prevalent today in Brazil will be discussed, considering diagnoses and information obtained so far.In addition, main topics for the assertiveness of the diagnosis will be pointed, such as the importance of establishing a diagnostic routine with laboratory support, and decision-making in the face of the problem.
