Analysis of the Application of Uncooled and Cooled Infrared Detection Technology in Intelligent Vehicles

With the advancement of vehicle intelligence, more and more sensors are equipped in intelligent vehicles, while night vision device based on infrared detection technology, as a kind of vehicle sensor, has not been widely used. This paper will compare the characteristics of different types of vehicle infrared sensors, and camera, LiDAR and Millimeter wave radar. Recently, with the development status of intelligent vehicle multi-sensor fusion, it can be concluded that uncooled infrared sensors are more suitable for fusion with vision cameras in intelligent vehicles, while cooled infrared sensors with higher accurate are more suitable for trucks, military reconnaissance vehicles and other special vehicles that require high accuracy.
