National guidelines stipulate that postoperative length of stay (LOS) after elective carotid endarterectomy (CEA) should not exceed one day, yet perioperative factors may limit institutions progress toward this goal. We designed and implemented a quality improvement (QI) protocol aiming to improve institutional performance in postoperative LOS after CEA.
