摘要
This chapter presents studies (monitoring and simulation) undertaken on the UK's first timber offsite-manufactured, low-energy social housing designs, focusing on a pilot study of six housing units' energy consumption and overheating based on monitoring data and dynamic computer simulations. It demonstrates the likely effect of climate change and global warming on energy demand in heating, cooling, and overheating. Comparative studies have been completed such as location sensitivity, micro location sensitivity, changing fabric standards and construction methods showing the effect on heating, cooling and overheating under a range of possible UK future climate scenarios such as UKCIP 02 and UKCP 09.
