The Front Cover shows a DNA molecular beacon, in which terbium and europium FRET donors are combined with different dye and quenching acceptors to realize rapid and multiplexed microRNA diagnostic assays with sub-nanomolar detection limits, simplified molecular logic devices (NOR, OR, NAND, AND, XNOR, XOR, IMPLEMENT, and INHIBIT), and biophotonic physical unclonable functions with more than 108 challenge-response pairs for improved security identification and authentication via time-gated FRET analysis. Combining lanthanides, nucleic acid molecular beacons, and time-gated FRET is exceptionally versatile for advanced biophotonic applications.
