Research on Control Strategy to Improve the Voltage Support Capability of Renewable Energy

As the proportion of renewable energy in the power system increases, the system stable operation faces great challenges, and new requirements are put forward for the renewable energy grid connection. It has become an inevitable choice that renewable energy units have to make full use of both themselves and their converters’ reactive power regulation capabilities, and participate in the grid voltage adjustment initiatively to ensure the safety for their grid connection and improve the consumption of renewable energy. Aiming at the possible oscillation or reactive circulation between multiple units or stations when renewable energy adopts constant voltage control mode, this paper proposes voltage closed-loop control with additional adjustment coefficient, analyzes the parameter adaptability of its transfer function under different grid strengths, and builds a wind power dual machine model in ADPSS to verify the effect of additional adjustment parameters on mitigating voltage oscillation.
