Development and Evaluation of High Temperature and Low Damage Fracture Fluid

A hydraulic fracture treatment is the most effective method used to stimulate oil flow rate of a well completed in a low permeability reservoir. Guar gum and its derivatives are the most commonly used polymers to increase the viscosity of fracturing fluids. For L oil Field in China, due to its high reservoir temperature and low permeability, the currently used guar gum fluid has defects of low prop-carrying capacity and high formation damage. Therefore, a new modified guar gum fracture fluid system was development, and the temperature resistance, shear resistance, gel breaking performance and proppant conductivity of cross-linked fracturing fluid were also investigated. Some additives were also developed to avoid clay expansion and reduce capillary pressure. The result showed that the fracture fluid viscosity could retain 72 mPa.s at 150 ℃ after shearing 120 min, after breaking the gel viscosity is 1.96 mPa.s, residue content is 181 mg/L, surface tension is 24.1 mN/m and 0.79 mN/m and Flow productivity is 144.9 μm2.cm.
