Nanoscale drug delivery and tissue engineering for neurodegenerative diseases

The essential ignorance of the neurodegenerative diseases has made this category of affected population annihilate their health states and shorten their life expectancy. The safe, efficacious, and targeted delivery of various drugs to the blood–brain barrier owing to their functional complexity have been an active domain of research in the recent era. Advances in the field of nanotechnology have parallelly improved the research of neuropathology. In this chapter, we review the various nanotechnological methods used for neuro-regeneration and the advances of nanoscale drug delivery systems which have taken the understanding of the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other CNS disorders to a new dimension. We have focused on the ability of the technology to regenerate and repair the impaired network system affected by the neurodegenerative category of diseases.
